ABOUT OUR MEMBERS
A typical family interested in home exchanging is relatively affluent, well educated and interested in expanding their horizon of experiences. Typically they are home owners with one or two incomes from professional and executive occupations or small business owners. The age range is in the mature category - mainly between 35 to 60, but also well into retirement. Typically there are children living at home for the lower age brackets.
The critical factor in finding suitable exchanges is the size and the "mix" of the membership database. The membership database must be large enough so that there is good representation of: (1) continents - we have found that 20% North America and 78% Europe works well; (2) countries - for example we have the largest number of listings in the world from France (a country with very high demand) of any home exchange organisation; and (3) age groups - a good mix of families with children and retirees makes exchanging possible year round.
Due to INTERVAC's long-term existence, our membership database is large, diverse and well balanced between countries that are demanded and available. We feel that we provide our members with the best opportunities to find suitable and interesting exchanges.
